OBJECTIVES OF PDMB
To recruit all professional dance teachers & dancers from most of the major dance styles so as to instill a sense of belonging and camaraderie.
To seek affiliation with MDA-Member of WDC, ADC, APDC and other controlling bodies for the following:- Line Dance, Freestyle & Street Dance, Alternative Rhythm (Salsa, Meringue, Mambo, Argentine Tango) and other social/ cultural dances.
To expand the activities of dancing and organizing championships with the motto of ‘Freedom of choice in Participation’ in line with the aspirations of World Dance Council-Amateur League (WDC-AL), Asian Dance Council (ADC), Asia Pacific Dance Council (APDC), Malaysian Dancers’ Association- Member of WDC (Ballroom & Latin) and the respective controlling bodies for the following:- Line Dance, Freestyle & Street Dance, Alternative Rhythm (Salsa, Meringue, Mambo, Argentine Tango) and other social/ cultural dances
To help organize workshops for the respective dance styles and improve the standard of dancing by inviting foreign coaches to conduct classes for teachers to attain their respective qualifications and be certified by International Examiners of respective dance categories.
To raise funds by organizing World & International Championships, Social Dinner Dances, and other fund raising events to help top dancers in PDMB to be represented in World & International, Asia and Regional Competitions. To solicit and raising funds to manage PDMB and also make available monies for affiliation fees and traveling expenses for PDMB representatives to World Congress and Dance Forums.
To ensure PDMB’s objectives of freedom of choice of competitors participation and to be affiliated with WDC, ADC, APDC, MDA-Malaysia WDC Member and ALL OTHER International Dance Bodies in line with WDC guidelines and Freedom of Choice participation.
To ensure fairness and transparency in PDMB’s operations with representation from members in various states in the management committee by allotting various posts that can enhance the growth of dancing in our country.
To ensure the policies of PDMB’s objectives to be FREE from any form of pressure from any World or International Dance Bodies which may destroy the progress of freedom of choice in dancing and the operations and management of PDMB.
To form various sub-committees to ensure the continuous development of activities and a tribunal committee to ensure fairness in the selection process of ranking dancers in PDMB and matters arising from dancers’ disputes and usage of doping under the WADA governing laws.
To ensure that all qualified professional teachers of dance adhere to codes of etiquette gentlemanly behavior and to ensure that they are well respected in all arena of dance.
To ensure fair selection of presenting of adjudicators in adjudication of all dance championships organized by PDMB and to fortify the respect for adjudicators by setting up an Adjudication Committee to regulate all matters pertaining to judging.
To ensure all matters including complaints be discussed at suitable forum gatherings given members notification in advance.
To help PDMB qualified teachers with the minimum qualifications of Licentiate or equivalent by PDMB recognized international exam bodies and to recommend them to attain International licensed as Adjudicators in their respective dance category.
PDMB will also organize competitions for the above mentioned dance styles. Starting from social/beginners/medalist to professional levels integrating the participation from juveniles to teens as part of our effort to promote dancing at all levels, so that the quality of dance will be further enhanced.
PDMB will be organizing competitions, road shows, dinner dances and social gatherings and also inviting top coaches and lecturers from abroad to conduct classes for our members and the profits made from it, will be channeled to PDMB’s funds for professional and top Amateur couples to represent Malaysia in the WDC & WDC- AL World Ranking competitions
PDMB qualification of membership and fees clarification as to Professional Teachers: Refers to dance teachers who have been professional certified by internationally recognized Professional Dance Bodies (e.g. IDTA,UKA, NATD, ISTD etc full list to be given later) at least a Licentiate of the highest level accorded to that particular dance style. Those who have no professional certificates but has teaching dance experience and are attached to dance academies, schools, studios and are principals of their own academies and studios and are being recommended by the committee can be accepted as members provided they work towards getting professional certificates within two (2) years of joining. To this end, PDMB has set up a committee to give full assistance.
Clarification as to PDMB Membership Fees:-
a) Founding Life Members 13 Members: RM 500.00
b) Life Membership up to 20 members: RM1.000.00
c) Unlimited Ordinary Membership RM 150.00
(Inclusive one payment entrance fee of RM100.00 and annual subscription fee of RM50.00)
17 To effect immediate workings of PDMB’s plans by having various elected sub-committees to be headed by elected member to oversee respective categories as follows:-
i) Latin & Standard Ballroom Committee
ii) Line Dancing Committee
iii) Alternative Rhythm Dance Committee
iv) Hip Hop Dance Committee
Freestyle Dancing Committee
Belly Dancing & Traditional Dances Committee

18 To appoint a company secretary and ensure PDMB’s annual report and ROC dues are paid in time.
